"Joseph Kony is #1 on the International Criminal Court’s indicted list. As the leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), he has abducted over 30,000 children & forced them to be child soldiers. He has remained at large for more than two decades. " -Causes-Invisible Children
Above is a Campaign video made by the non-profit Invisible Children. The video recaps on a journey an old friend of mine made to find a story in Africa. What they found was thousands of displaced children who are living in fear of being abducted in the night and forced to become soldiers in the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army) under the command of a war criminal, Joseph Kony. Not only is Kony at fault but also Yoweri Museveni for allowing this to go on as it has without taking action or he, himself being removed from office for doing nothing about these crimes. Kony, at the heart of this war, has taken children from their homes and forced them to murder, rape and imprison many. Jacob is featured in the video and is a representation of the tragedy in Uganda and many other parts of that nation. I don't have all the facts here but Invisible Children is doing their darnedest to spread awareness of Joseph Kony so that he may be brought to justice and so that no one can let this man remain anonymous.
Please watch the video that now, more than 15 million people have seen in the last 24 hrs including many celebrities like Rihanna, Oprah, Jay-Z and thousands others who are trying to help bring awareness and support the cause to bring Kony down.
Jason Russell changed my life during my time in Christian Youth Theater. Before he went to grad school for film at USC, he was inspiring kids like me to sing and dance and love God and he gave me the chance of a lifetime as a lead role in a musical. That experience I hold very dear to my heart and I knew then, bowing to a standing ovation, I would become a singer and entertainer. I am so proud to have worked with him on the stage and so proud of him that he is becoming the change he sees in the world. He saw an injustice and instead of sitting idly by, he's dedicated with his team, nearly 10 years towards a cause that does not affect him directly but thousands of people on the other side of the world. It's people like him that make you think, wow, I can make a difference. We can really do something in this world. With the power of internet, millions of people are connected without borders to spread knowledge, awareness and work together towards a larger goal, bigger than us. We are all together, humanity. Let's stop this war. The point is, now there will be a dialogue. Now world leaders can take a stand to help bring down a government that allows it's people to be abused and killed. STOP KONY, bring down Museveni and help rehabilitate the lives of many displaced civilians.

While some criticize Invisible Children's efforts, keep in mind they are bringing to attention to a man that most of the world hadn't heard of. The Cause in itself is to save the children and free the people from Joseph Kony, if not with @Invisible than with any of the other organizations also in place to aid the people of Africa.
